Synopsis: Nickle Boys is based on a 2019 book by Colson Whitehead. They looked at the terrible past of Dozier School, a reform school in Florida. It focused on student abuse and used murder and torture to keep control. Despite the fictionalization of the setting, the novel stays true to real-life horrors. “Nickle Boys” aims to transform such traumatic events into a startling examination of racism and brutality, interspersed with brief human moments and the perilous paths of hope. RaMell Ross, the co-writer and director, does not supervise a traditional interpretation of dramatic relationships and entanglements. With the image, which is primarily taken from point-of-view perspectives, they have chosen to be more creative and artistic.
