Synopsis: Joy Ride introduces us to Audrey Sullivan and her childhood best friend Lolo, whom she met on the playground with her adoptive parents. A now-grown-up Audrey is on her way to becoming a partner in her law firm if she can seal a deal during a business trip to China to close a new client, Chao. While there, Lolo tries to be helpful and tells Chao about Audrey’s Chinese birth mother and promises to take her to a company to demonstrate Audrey’s connection to her Chinese roots. Along with Audrey’s college friend and Chinese actress Cat, and Lolo’s eccentric cousin Dedaye, the four friends travel to the Chinese countryside to find Audrey’s birth mother and themselves.
