Synopsis: The Four Nations used to coexist peacefully side by side. Each nation’s “benders” are trained to become experts in the elements of fire, air, water and earth specific to their native countries. Aang, an upbeat and gregarious Airbender, resides and trains with the monks of the Southern Air Temple. However, Aang is shocked to learn that he is the Avatar from his master Gyatso. It was the only person in the world who could master all four elements and it kept reincarnating as the Four Nations’ defender of peace. For 12-year-old Aang, the shock of the responsibility the Avatar bears is too much to handle. To get his thoughts straight, he leaves the Southern Air Temple for a little while with his flying sky bison Appa.
