Synopsis:A Widow’s Game is a mystery drama that opens with sorrow but slowly leads us into a profound and dangerous trip. The story is about a woman experiencing the death of a spouse. At first, it seems like a simple story about a widow dealing with the loss of a spouse but slowly you realize it is more complex than that. The widow, played by Carmen Machi, is strong but whole heartedly broken. As she begins to go through the belongings of her husband, it soon becomes clear that there are strange signs that may raise questions about who her husband really was. Did he live another life? Had he been involved in something darker? As she continues her search for truth her own life becomes a tapestry of danger and lies. The movie starts off slow, but eventually gets consistent speed, once the mystery starts to develop. Each scene is dished out like new pieces of a puzzle. The storyline slowly brings you into question about who is trustworthy. There are many surprising combinations throughout the movie, and the ending stands tall in your mind. Ivana Baquero & Tristán Ulloa also provided outstanding performances. While the director Carlos sides does a great job at building suspense, tuggin at heartstrings of someone losing a true love.
